Why have our prices increased?

As an organization, it is our vision to enable communities to reach their full potential by reframing waste streams as valuable resources and ultimately transforming regional food systems.

Cleveland’s commitment to date has been vital to building sustainable communities, and helping to divert ~13,000,000 pounds of food scraps from the landfill since our inception is 2014. We are honored to be a part of this work with you.

In order to continue doing this work, we will be implementing a necessary price increase that will allow us to continue creating a more just and sustainable future for all.  This is not our preferred option, but due to macroeconomic trends beyond our control, we have made this difficult decision to ensure we can continue providing services to the community for years to come.

We have scrutinized this from every angle and we feel will best optimize for the long term health of the organization.

Our new pick-up pricing structure will be as follows:

  • Monthly Members: $55/every month

  • Semi-Annual Members: $300/every six months, or $50/month

  • Annual Members: $540/every year, or $45/month

Our new drop-off pricing structure will be as follows:

  • Monthly Members: $12/monthly

  • Annual Members: $144/yearly

Rust Belt Riders Mission is to “feed people, not landfills” and believe how we work is equally as important as the work we do.

Our vision and core values are as follows:

Vision:

Enabling communities to reach their full potential through the reframing of waste streams as valuable resources to transform regional food systems while building wealth and political power through employee ownership.

Core Values:

  • Interconnection – We recognize that no one acts alone, and that we are all components of nested systems: ecosystems, economies, communities, etc...

  • Discovery – We are open to learning new things, to pushing limits, to innovation, and to the wonder that surrounds us.

  • Integrity – We are honest and trustworthy.

  • Fulfillment – Our work is fulfilling in and of itself.

  • Equity – We value one another’s voice, vision, and perspective. No one is better than another and power or control are not our aims. We listen to one another, are open to other perspectives, and take thoughtful care and consideration of others to ensure fairness in our decision making.

  • Regeneration – We believe that our work can heal our planet, our communities, and our neighbors. Our work demonstrates a new way of being that permeates hope in a world that desperately needs it. It is not enough to sustain, we must regenerate the things and relationships (people, communities, and resources) that remain neglected or forgotten. We want to regenerate the relationships that have been destroyed: our relationships with one-another and relationships with the systems that nourish us.
