4-5 pm: Composting workshop and family event
5 pm: Food and drinks and a community mixer. Check out the vendors and get to know our partners and our team! You'll have the chance to check out the warehouse and see how our daily operations work.
6:30 pm: Keynote speech by the founders, followed by a video retrospective of our 10-year history!
7:30 pm: Live music begins - Plastic Wildflowers, followed by S.C.O.B.Y.
9:30 pm: Hit the dance floor with us at our DJ'd afterparty!

This lecture will talk about the many strategies to make your growing space more ecologically functional and environmentally sustainable. This talk is intended for anyone who values resource conservation, Native wildlife habitation and full cycle interactions as an integral part of their land management efforts. The goal of this class is to discuss regenerative agriculture solutions. Whether you want to : Retain Water in your yard, add more functional and unique native species, or find alternative ways to regenerate the living ecosystem around us, with materials you already have. Many solutions, stories and examples will be shared to give you the most concrete visual for all to begin this work in their own way. “

On Friday, March 22, 2024, 4th – 8th grade youth and educators are invited to join Drink Local Drink Tap together at the Great Lakes Science Center in celebration of World Water Day. World Water Day is celebrated every year on March 22nd. The United Nations started WWD in 1993, to celebrate water and raise awareness about the 2 billion people living without access to safe water. This day encourages people to learn about the global water crisis and find new ways to help. Each year focuses on a different theme, and this year is Leveraging Water for Peace.
Rust Belt Riders’ own Joe King and Steven Springer will be there with educational material and more - come by and sink yr hands in the soil !

Join us at the annual Head of the Cuyahoga Regatta ! Rust Belt Riders will be both providing composting services for the event and tabling, some come by to say hello and talk about soil, “waste”, water and whatever else may be in the the heart on a Saturday afternoon.
Join us as we take part in the Waterloo Arts Fest this year ! We’ll be tabling throughout the event, and teaching a compost workshop at 4 pm, with a live demo. Come join us, talk the big beautiful web of life, death, rebirth unending (or, compost).
Join the Rust Belt Riders crew as we spend time out in the summer woods, at the Shaker Lakes Nature Center. First, at noon, Steven will be leading an hour long session on how to compost at home, followed by an hour and a half plant walk with Joe starting at 1:15. This is a beautiful opportunity to get a sense of the breadth of interests that thread the Rust Belt Riders collective together, and with the community at large.

Dance with us through the night ! RBR is hosting a fundraiser party for one of our composters as he navigates the horrors of financial burdens placed upon a cancer diagnosis. We believe in the deep interwoven threads of connection to come together and celebrate him and community resilience through solidarity and joy in the throes of uncertainty.
